Conversions - Who was the real culprit?

There were some questions which I had to answer. The Saffron Brigade was singled out for the anti-Christian riots recently. I tried to find out the truth without bias. Though the acts of those indulging in this violence were highly condemnable, they cannot really be blamed for attacking Christians just because they were anti-Christian. After researching the facts I can only say that reading two or three lines of the newspaper is not enough to understand a problem in depth. Often there is more that remains hidden, at times deliberately covered. One needs to read in detail and from different sources. We also need to read without bias. Thanks to our biased media and politicians, names like the RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal introduce lot of negative bias at the outset. How many of us know about the welfare and culture preservation projects they are involved in remotest of areas? I am sure not many know. I have only read negative reports about them, never a word of appreciation for the good work they do. I found out about this when I visited their websites. Yes, not all their acts can be justified, but let us atleast analyze on a case to case basis with an open mind. If we can devote more time to our society than we do now, the blame games would end and no one will be able to take us for a ride - whether it is the government at the center, the missionaries or the media.

Here is a presentation on Conversions and some videos. Shall upload the Hindi version later.
I request people to read the complete presentation and watch the videos before commenting on this post. There have been comments which have come only after reading a few lines ....if you really want to discuss, please read completely. Once again, I would say that we condemn violence. But there is something that you need to understand...riots do happen in charged situations...they happened after Godhra, they happened after Swamiji's assassination. Therefore, it is very important for all communities to realize that violent acts perpetrated even by a few members of any community can create problems for the whole community. Let no one indulge in such acts. The onus should not lie exlusively on the ones who retaliate.

  1. See first of all we need to understand why we are fighting? We got one race but differant religion its does not mean that we should go and start killing anyone for any reason. I know about social work done by RSS people but tis does not give them right to take law in their own hands no matter what. tribals in orissa are mostly hindu's some surely converted to christianity but if we look at their history they were neither hindu or chrisitian they were worshping nature so in short they got converted to hindu and christian religion as per their understanding beliefs.
I am Hindu and Proud Hindu but never ever support people who kill other people in the name of religion. Its fact many chritians were killed in orissa and many churches were bruned down in karnataka both states were run by BJP or BJP supoorted government. So we need to look out the thing form every possible angle in order to get the rights answers.

  3. First of all, Hindus, and the RSS don't go around killing people because they believe in a different faith. The RSS even has a Muslim section. If you say that the tribals are not Hindus, then you have not understood Hinduism. 'Animist' is a western definition that was imposed on us. There are innumerable sects of Hinduism with their primary deities that include snakes, cows, trees and souls, Vishnu, Shiva, Durga. All these are part of Hinduism.

Yes, we need to look at the issue in a holistic manner. We do not support killing others, but the attack on Christians was a reaction - a reaction to the killings of Hindus and mockery of their deities and beliefs. The problem was created by the evangelists and they are to be blamed for creating social and religious tensions because of their illegal conversion tactics. The BJP led governments are only as guilty as Congress led governments - not more. What has the Congress been doing all this while against illegal conversions? Strengthening its Christian vote bank ? While telling people that many Christians were killed, did you care to count how many Hindus were killed and many homes of Hindus were burnt down? You did not even care to find out - THIS IS CALLED PSEUDO-SECULARISM.

The BJP may have been reluctant to control the violence initially, but you cannot simply lay the charge that the whole exercise was engineered by it. All Hindus are not members of the Sangh Parivar. But their pent up fury erupted (as it did during the Jammu agitation) after the killing of Swaminji, which was supported by the Sangh Parivar.

  4. Supporters of BJP should ask it to strictly act to ban conversion and punish the culprits as well as poplulation controll in India. This should be two most urgently demanded needs of Bharat

  5. TO EKAWAAZ you say you are a Hindu and a proud one too. I dont see you sense any sympathy for our swami s murder . you must remember, conversions and terrorism are breeeding because of people who love peace at the cost of your identity and dharma. our way of life is one of peace but if it comes at a price then you must ask yourself whether its worth it.it would be interesting to see what your reaction would be if anyone tried to convert your family member. would you still be a PROUD HINDU and resist or give in for the sake of peace.. also you are right that we have all vedic ancestry and we all chose to be hindu s etc.. the key word here is CHOOSE !! WE CHOSE WITH OUR OWN MINDS WITHOUT COHERSION AND PRESSURE..and we definitely dont go around killing people because they believe in something else..i agree what has happened may have been wrong but there come a time when you get pushed in to a corner and you have to push back
